What is Seek + Sojourn?

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Hebrews 13:14

I’m the opposite of a homebody. I love to travel and I’m prone to wander. I never sit still very long. I’ve been around the world, around the country, around and around and around. I’ve travelled alone, then I gained a travel partner (husband), and then we created two tiny travel buddies (my precious boys). All this time I’ve spent travelling and not sitting still has taught me a lot, and I believe some of it is worth sharing. Enter: Seek + Sojourn.

My prayer for this space is that together we will learn Seek the Lord in the everyday moments of our lives. Wherever we are, He is with us…it’s up to us to be on the lookout. Let’s walk together and fix our eyes on our Creator, whether it’s at home, on the road, or even in the car line at school. The distractions of this world are many, but if we are intentional, we can tune them out a little more every day. Along the way I’ll share with you how I’m learning to seek more and hurry less, and offer practical ways you can too.

I will also share with you what I’ve learned about sojourning. Wherever you are, you are a sojourner. To Sojourn means “to stay somewhere temporarily.” Even if you have lived within a few miles of the town you were born in…you’re still a sojourner. This earthly world is not our permanent home, only the one we are privileged to occupy for a time. What does this mean for us? I believe we are each called and created with different gifts to walk out specific purposes God has for us. Yours may take you far from home, or it may take root in your own backyard. I’ll share with you places I’ve been and what I’ve learned about them, and open up a space for you to do the same.

Here’s to a life of seeking + sojourning, and connecting with new friends along the way.
